Student Club

At Yorkland High School, we have a very active student body.  Students can take part in a number of clubs and activities on campus.   School board offers a variety of clubs and activities based on student interests.  There is something for everyone!  For example, we have:

  • Prom Committee
  • Yearbook Committee
  • Culture Club
  • Science and Technology Club
  • Yoga and Meditation Club
  • A Music club
  • Sports club
  • Music, Art and Drama Night
  • Community service opportunities

In addition, for students in the 12th grade (or soon to enter), Yorkland is also offer a full-application consulting services that covers everything from school selection strategy to essay writing development. A dedicated advisor will give the students an initial consultation and prepare their application to the highest quality, guaranteeing our applicant receive at least one offer from a top Canadian university.

Media Broadcasting Club

Club Introduction
As an additional school activity, the media broadcasting club enriches students with music and news. It may also add a sense of community to our school as well.

The broadcasting studio is located in 2nd floor (Student Service) of the school.

Club Members
Director
Director is responsible for proofreading the draft, which is written by the broadcasters, and organizing regular club meetings.

Broadcasters
Broadcasters are responsible for collecting broadcast materials, drafting the press release, and then broadcasting.

Ally Song
Ally is an optimistic girl and easy to get along with. She tries her best to serve the students and do everything well.

Kavin Zhu
Kavin is a boy who has lots of thoughts. He can complete each broadcasting task on time.

Anny Wang
Anny is an outgoing and warm-hearted girl. She takes her job seriously.

Club Activity
There is ten-minute broadcasting during lunch break from 12:20-12:30 on each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Each member of the club takes turns to broadcast. In addition to broadcasting, members of the club are responsible for playing music through the radio during lunch break every weekday.

• School Announcement
• Short news (social, sport, economic, etc.)
• Scientific knowledge
• Weather report
The club has a group meeting every two weeks to summarize the club activities.
